Weeks 17-18 AND It’s a…

17 Weeks

17 weeksShort & sweet: No more Zofran, much less MS & 3 solid runs including a pregnancy PDR I never thought I’d reach.

IMG_20131115_085600Cravings have been strong for Starbucks decaf caramel lattes & bags upon bags of trail mix daily.

And we found out we’re expecting…..A BABY BOY!

20131119_153008We are thrilled to bring ANDREW WESTON into our family this April and watch Jackson with a baby brother 🙂
18 Weeks

18 weekskisses for baby brotherCame down with a cold that Jax had for a few weeks. I took a few days off running after feeling sluggish and weighed down and came back feeling strong. Still devouring trail mix by the bag full & downing caramel lattes (I blame the cold weather). Excited to go to TX this week to spend Thanksgiving with my in-laws, run a 5 miler Turkey Trot with my BIL & future SIL and spend time with our families (while stuffing our faces with delicious Southern grub).

Officially up 1.4lbs (2.2lbs this week), the belly has popped and I feel movement frequently. Andrew is currently breech, lying sideways across me which makes for some incredibly uncomfortable kicks, jabs and somersaults…and lots of pressure all night long making me have to pee. But overall I’m finally in the sweet spot of pregnancy and loving the ability to finally call this little boy by his name 😀

2nd Pregnancy: 16 Weeks

This week Jackson’s fought a nasty cold and learned to say “mwah” when he kisses or blows kisses. It’s his new favorite thing and as you can imagine, spending 24/7 with him, I’m usually the subject of his kisses. Don’t get me wrong, it melts my heart, cracks me up and fills me with endless love but snotty kisses from your sick toddler all day long leaves a preggo mama with the same congestion her little one’s fighting. My favorite mwah kisses are the ones he gives to baby 🙂

Despite yet another cold in our house I managed to get out for one long run, a surprising 6 miler on Sunday! I took it easy namely because of a trip to the ER Wednesday night after the pain I was having in my abdomen got so severe my mom came to watch Jax Wednesday night so I could go for my usual run and instead found my crying in the dining room from such severe pain. Gummy is fine, measuring a week ahead with a strong HR of 160bpm! No clue as to the gender still. As for the pain the doctor thinks I pulled a muscle, not from running but from carrying/playing/clowning around with my crazy toddler. So I took it easy last week and worked on bending at the knees every time I needed to pick Jax up.

Monday I also chopped my hair off again.

Before: Finally able to put it in a ponytail

And finally this week’s belly pic:

16 weeks

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain: Down .2lbs this week (currently 113lbs) <— had 2 bouts of puking this week. Fun stuff.

Best moment this week: Jackson learning to say “mwah” while kissing baby. *heartmelted*
Miss Anything? Going over an hour without having to pee. It’s cramping my sleep style.
Movement: A few kicks and wiggles here and there and a major roll the other night which I’m hoping was baby flipping head down since our tech from the ER described Gummy as “breechlie”. Not cool, kid. Not cool.
Food cravings: Hot sauce, french toast, McD’s french fries, Taco Bell soft beef tacos, McDs breakfast burritos with picante sauce <—-I think I’ve had these once in my life
Symptoms: A constant need to pee. Exhaustion. Endless weepiness over the craziest things.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Very emotional.
Looking forward to: Hearing Gummy’s HB at our OB appt tomorrow and finding out the gender already!!!

Jackson’s 1st Trick-or-Treating

Unfortunately daddy had to work all night so he missed out on all the fun, and we missed him dearly! I always feel a bit sad when he misses out on fun firsts like these, especially when it’s to provide for our family.

IMG_5870 IMG_5873 IMG_5875I knew last night would be tricky. On one hand Jackson’s favorite thing is to tour the neighborhood on his own little feet and go up to each door. Perfect for trick-or-treat fun! However, he also goes to bed quite early and after a much too late past his bedtime night on Wednesday I was wondering how long he’s physically last. The answer was one house before the first meltdown occurred 🙂 But he was a trooper and we completed 5 house stops in our neighborhood before we called it a night and headed home to put the little firefighter to bed.

IMG_5881 IMG_5882 IMG_5887 IMG_5889 IMG_5899It was so much fun to really experience Halloween for the first time as a  mom. Last year he was too itty bitty to really partake in the festivities. Except for the costume!

Watching my son do something for the first time is always this overwhelming experience of pride and joy. It’s one of the most fun parts of being a mom! And it makes me even more excited to expand our family. Happy Halloween from our family to yours! We hope it was a night filled with cute costumes, delicious candy and more treats than tricks. Let the holiday season begin!!
